Dr. Jennifer Lee Wu
Dr. Jennifer Wu is a board-certified ophthalmologist. With substantial expertise in cornea and anterior segment surgery, she specializes in cornea transplant surgeries (partial thickness and full thickness keratoplasty), refractive laser treatments (LASIK and PRK) and cataract surgery. Dr. Wu has additional expertise in the most advanced laser assisted cornea transplant and cataract surgeries, cornea cross-linking for keratoconus and ectasia, and ocular surface reconstruction.
Trained at the world-renown Doheny Eye Institute and LAC-USC Medical Center, Dr. Wu completed her ophthalmology residency and cornea fellowship training at the University of Southern California. Furthermore, she obtained her Medical Degree from the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine and her Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, from Yale University. Prior to joining Coastal Vision, Dr. Wu was an assistant clinical professor at the Dean McGee Eye Institute-University of Oklahoma, where she trained resident and fellow surgeons, and conducted clinical research.
"I chose specializing in diseases of the cornea and anterior segment because I can help patients restore vision and improve their quality of life," says Dr. Wu. “New laser and imaging technology as well as advancements in surgical techniques and ocular implants have revolutionized our treatment options for various eye diseases, which is why I enjoy participating in clinical trials to introduce new treatments to my patients.”
Dr. Wu is well respected by her colleagues and patients. She has published several research articles in high impact peer reviewed journals and has been invited to speak at regional, national and international ophthalmology meetings. Dr. Wu is honored to provide the utmost compassion and a thorough explanation at each patient encounter. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Mandarin.
Happy to be back in Orange County with her husband, Dr. Wu enjoys spending time at the beach, social dancing, and playing tennis.
