Dr. Amir Marvasti

Having completed his fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Marvasti specializes in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery that includes advanced techniques in cataract surgery and LASIK.

Dr. Marvasti completed his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and received his ophthalmology training at the University of California, San Diego, Shiley Eye Institute where he was chief resident. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.

​​​​​​​With a passion for volunteering, teaching, and clinical research, Dr. Marvasti has been involved in numerous mission trips and volunteers locally to offer free vision screening with the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic. His love of teaching garnered him the Shiley Eye Institute Resident Teaching Award and he has received a number of research awards in various fields. Dr. Marvasti is currently a volunteer faculty at the UCLA department of ophthalmology teaching students, residents, and fellows.
