
Amir H. Marvasti, MD, is a distinguished expert in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. With a dedication to delivering cutting-edge vision correction solutions, Dr. Marvasti combines advanced surgical expertise with a highly personalized approach to patient care.
Dr. Marvasti earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine before completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Diego’s Shiley Eye Institute, where he was elected Chief Resident. He then pursued a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, further refining his expertise in LASIK, advanced cataract surgery, and corneal transplantation.
Recognized for his excellence in the field, Dr. Marvasti was selected as one of Newsweek Magazine’s America’s Top 200 Ophthalmologists. He is also the founder of The Marvasti Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the gap in access to eye care in Orange County by providing vision-saving treatments to underserved communities.
A strong advocate for patient-centered care, Dr. Marvasti believes in understanding each individual’s visual goals to deliver truly tailored surgical solutions. A recipient of multiple research awards and the prestigious Shiley Eye Institute Resident Teaching Award, his commitment to eye care extends beyond the operating room through community outreach and global medical mission work providing care to underserved populations.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Refractive Surgery Alliance.
