Ashley Owyang, OD was born and raised in Northern California. She attended the University of California, Berkeley where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative Biology. She continued at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry Degree and graduated magna cum laude.

Dr. Owyang’s extensive clinical training includes various externship sites throughout the country, including the Vandenberg Air Force Base in Central California, Castle Family Health Center in Atwater, California, Omni Eye Services in Iselin, New Jersey, and the VA Miami Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She gained experience in comprehensive eye exams, managing and treating ocular diseases, specialty contact lens fittings, and cataract and refractive post-operative care. She is committed to providing personalized and compassionate eye care for her patients.

Dr. Owyang volunteers with OneSight, which provides free eye exams and glasses to local kids in need. She has also volunteered abroad on a medical mission trip to Ecuador with VOSH (Volunteer Optometrist in Service to Humanity) where she helped organize a community clinic that provided eye care for over 1,900 residents.

As the Clinical Research Coordinator at Coastal Vision, Dr. Owyang manages and oversees multiple FDA clinical trials. “I enjoy being involved in studies on new advanced ophthalmic surgical devices and treatments. We get firsthand experience with innovative technology that benefits our patients and continues to expand the scope of eye care.”

​​​​​​​Outside of work, Dr. Owyang is passionate about food and cooking. She enjoys trying new recipes and discovering new restaurants. Dr. Owyang loves traveling with her husband and exploring the world through local cuisine.
