Vision Correction

Usually, the higher the vision correction required, the higher the cost will be for the patient. This is because there is greater complexity to the procedure and more corneal tissue needs to be removed during the procedure. If you have astigmatism, that also gets factored into the vision correction.

Laser Technology

All Laser or Blade-Free LASIK

Laser vision correction is a two-step process. The first step involves creating a small flap on the surface of the cornea. To do this, traditional LASIK uses a mechanical surgical blade called a microkeratome. Today, All-Laser LASIK uses a femtosecond laser to create the flap. All-Laser LASIK is sometimes called blade-free LASIK. The femtosecond laser creates a corneal flap that has a more consistent thickness. A corneal flap made with a blade can vary from 100 to 200 microns, whereas the laser can create a 100-micron flap every single time to within +/- 10 microns. Additionally, All-Laser LASIK eliminates the potential complications from the microkeratome blade, making it a safer, blade-free procedure with a faster healing time.

Custom LASIK

Custom All-Laser LASIK is a two-step procedure that enables eye surgeons to further customize the Wavefront-guided LASIK procedure to your individual eyes. First, a precise laser custom flap is created in approximately six seconds using a 200 kHz Femtosecond laser. Next, your data is sent to the surgical planning computer to create your individualized ablation profile.
